An energetic group of volunteers participated in the first Vine Day of this Winter season at George Lorimer Preserve on Saturday, December 1, 2007. From college students to college professors, they came from all walks of life and spanned five decades in age. Several first timers enjoyed the camaraderie with Vine Day regulars.
"I enjoyed it", said Matt Blumenthal, a student at Villanova, "it's very satisfying to volunteer and feel like you are making a difference in helping the trees to be freed from the vines that retard their growth and life span."
It was a beautiful sunny morning in the Lorimer Preserve, a great time to be out for fresh air and a little exercise.
